Cultivation and Production of Cucumbers

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a warm-season crop belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family. It is a highly popular vegetable among consumers, commonly eaten fresh on its own or in salads and also widely used for pickling.

Every 100 grams of fresh cucumber contains:

  • 95-96g water
  • 15 calories
  • 0.9-1g protein
  • 2-4.3g carbohydrates
  • 0.6g fiber
  • 0.5g ash

Additionally, cucumbers contain small amounts of essential nutrients and vitamins such as A, B, and C.
